Master Drilling International and AlRushaid Group Announce Strategic Joint Venture Agreement at Mining Indaba Conference

Cape Town, South Africa (4 February 2025)

Master Drilling International, a global leader in diversified drilling and mining solutions and AlRushaid Group, a leading industrial investment company in Saudi Arabia, are proud to announce the signing of a landmark Joint Venture (JV) Agreement. The announcement of the JV took place at the Investing In African Mining Indaba Conference on 4 February 2025, in the presence of His Excellency Khalid Almudifer, Vice Minister of Mining Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources – Saudi Arabia.

This strategic partnership aims to establish a local entity in Saudi Arabia, combining Master Drilling’s technical experience, international know-how and cutting-edge technology with AlRushaid Group’s local expertise. The JV will primarily serve the mining sector, and civils industries, with a focus on providing world-class services in vertical and horizontal mechanical excavation using its fleet of attests such as raise boring, shotcreting, and advanced drilling technologies including the disruptive new technologies, the mobile tunnel boring (MTB) and shaft boring systems (SBS).

Speaking at the ceremony, Feras Bukhamseen emphasized, “This partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives of unlocking the full potential of the mining sector. By integrating advanced drilling technologies with local expertise, we aim to drive efficiency, sustainability, and growth in Saudi Arabia’s mineral exploration and extraction industries.”

With this collaboration, Master Drilling International and Al Rushaid will support Saudi Arabia’s ambition of becoming a global mining hub by fostering sustainable technologies, job creation, and economic diversification.
